Shout Out for Music Recommendations
I need some new music. So does CM, my good friend in London. We were emailing back and forth about this and I thought why not see what you are all listening to these days and get some fun recommendations. So feel free to post or email me (you know where to find me!) and you'll have the satisfaction knowing that you are impacting the cultural consumption patterns of at least two of us!

Did you really post this at 5:30am??? Thanks so much for doing this and looking forward to what people have to say! Figured I should contribute since I'm one of the people who will potentially benefit :-)
Top five songs:
1. Stop Me by Mark Ronson
2. Golden Skans by the Klaxons
3. Say It Right by Nelly Furtado
4. She Moves in Her Own Way by the Kooks
5. Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs
All about the upbeat tunes right now and love these. Also really like Maybe Tomorrow by Stereophonics.
Older favourites include anything by Fleetwood Mac, The Pretenders,Jack Johnson and Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley.
Have been listening to:
- Madeleine Peyroux
- The Be Good Tanyas
- Lenny Breau--jazz guitarist (Breau informally began teaching Randy Bachman when Randy was 15 years old, who has since described those lessons as "...the beginning of my life as a guitar player."
- Ian Tyson
- Tom Russell (well always listen to Ian and Tom)
Thanks, guys! (No, I didn't actually post at 5:30 am.... my personal laptop is still on CA time.) :-)
Even though the CD's are not new, I'm still enjoying KT Tunstall and Damien Rice.
Also like The Fray, but that *might* have something to do with the fact that Special K covers them amazingly well.
